Observation
What the evaluator saw. A factual note about the player's actions at the trial.
How ScoutEdge handles data
What information is created at each step of a trial, who can see it, and where it lives. For the formal version, see our privacy policy.
Step by step
Creating an account stores your name, email, account type and, optionally, a mobile number. Firebase handles sign-in; we never see your password.
Your football profile: date of birth, location, positions, foot, level, height, weight, bio, photo, history, achievements, statistics and evidence links. Your ScoutEdge ID is created here.
An organisation publishes a trial with its dates, venue and eligibility rules. When you register, a registration record links your profile to that trial.
On the day, a check-in record stores the time, method, your bib number, your group and who checked you in.
Evaluators write what they saw and, separately, what they think it means. Each note keeps its author and time.
Each evaluator rates the trial's attributes from 1 to 5, or N/O, with a confidence level. Ratings stay attached to the evaluator who gave them.
The organisation records an outcome with a reason. Every change is kept in the decision history and audit trail.
Kept separate on purpose
What the evaluator saw. A factual note about the player's actions at the trial.
What the evaluator thinks it means. Stored separately from the observation, so facts and opinions don't blur.
The evaluator's assessment against the configured attributes: 1–5 or N/O, with confidence.
The organisation's recorded decision and reason: shortlisted, further assessment, selected or not selected.
Every evaluator's ratings stay attributable to that evaluator. They aren't silently overwritten, merged or averaged, and nobody can edit another evaluator's record. Decisions keep their full history, and trial records lock once a trial is completed.
| Data | Who can see it |
|---|---|
| Email and mobile number | Only you. Never shown to organisations or publicly. |
| Date of birth | Only you. Others see your age group, for example U17. |
| Football profile, history, achievements, statistics | You; the public only if you publish your shareable profile. |
| Evidence links | You; only items you mark public appear on your shareable profile. |
| Registrations and check-in records | You and the organisation running that trial. |
| Observations, ratings and decisions | The organisation running that trial. Each evaluator sees their own; the organisation sees all of them. |
